NEET 2028 Exam Date: Expected Window, Registration & Syllabus (Updated Oct 2026)
Short answer (updated 19 October 2026): NTA has not announced the NEET 2028 exam date. If NEET keeps its pattern from 2023–2026 (pen-and-paper, one day, first Sunday of May), NEET 2028 would fall on Sunday 7 May 2028, with registration opening in early February 2028 and results in June 2028. This is an estimate from past NTA schedules, not an official date.
How we estimate it: the last four NEET cycles
Cycle | Registration | Exam date | Result |
NEET 2023 | 6 Mar – 6 Apr 2023 | Sun 7 May 2023 | 13 Jun 2023 |
NEET 2024 | 9 Feb – 16 Mar 2024 (extended) | Sun 5 May 2024 | 4 Jun 2024 |
NEET 2025 | 7 Feb – 7 Mar 2025 | Sun 4 May 2025 | 14 Jun 2025 |
NEET 2026 | 8 Feb – 11 Mar 2026 (extended) | Sun 3 May 2026 (cancelled); re-exam Sun 21 Jun 2026 | 16 Jul 2026 |
Three things repeat every year:
the application form opens in early February;
the exam is on the first Sunday of May;
the result comes in June. 2026 was the exception, because of the re-exam.
Expected NEET 2028 timeline (estimate)
Event | Expected window |
Information bulletin and registration open | Early February 2028 |
Registration closes | Early to mid March 2028 |
Admit card | Late April 2028 |
Exam | Sunday 7 May 2028 (if the single-day pattern holds) |
Result | June 2028 |
What could change the NEET 2028 date
A move to computer-based testing (CBT). After the NEET 2026 paper was cancelled, the then Education Minister announced on 15 May 2026 that NEET would move online. But the government told the Supreme Court on 16 September 2026 that the decision awaits a High-Powered Task Force chaired by Nandan Nilekani. If NEET becomes a CBT, it would most likely run over several days and shifts, like JEE Main and CUET, and the single "first Sunday of May" date would no longer apply. NEET 2028 syllabus
NTA has not published a NEET 2028 syllabus. It is normally released with the information bulletin. Until then, study from NCERT Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology and the latest published NEET syllabus. Any change is usually announced months before the exam, and NCERT stays the base.
If you are a NEET 2028 aspirant (Class 11 now)
You have about 18 months. That is enough to finish NCERT twice and revise it on a schedule, rather than once in a rush.
Finish each chapter with questions, not just reading. Practise line-by-line NCERT questions as you complete each chapter.
Revise what you have finished on a spaced schedule (1 day, 3 days, 7 days, then longer), so Class 11 chapters are still fresh in Class 12.
Start chapter-wise PYQs early. They show how NTA frames questions from NCERT lines.
FAQ
Has NTA released the NEET 2028 exam date?
No. As of 19 October 2026 there is no official NEET 2028 date. NTA's exam calendar up to March 2027 does not list NEET-UG 2027 either.
When will the NEET 2028 application form come out?
Not announced. In 2024, 2025 and 2026 the form opened between 7 and 9 February, so early February 2028 is the likely window.
Will NEET 2028 be online?
It is undecided. A move to CBT has been announced politically but not confirmed by NTA; it depends on the Nilekani task force's recommendations.
Is there an age limit for NEET 2028?
Under current rules you must be at least 17 by 31 December of the exam year, with no upper age limit and no attempt limit. NTA could revise this in the NEET 2028 bulletin.
